On July 1, the Pennsylvania State Board of Education approved changes to Chapter 4 by adopting the Common Core Standards.

These curriculum changes will begin next school year with full implementation in July 2013. The State Board has indicated that they will be providing a number of meetings around the Commonwealth to gather input about the implementation.
