Peer Monitors Compliance Monitoring Training

The Pennsylvania Department of Education is responsible for ensuring all school districts and charter schools administer special education programs and services that are in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations. In order to fulfill this responsibility, the Bureau of Special Education (BSE) trains individuals to serve as peer monitors on special education monitoring teams.
The training will review the updated monitoring processes and procedures including compliance data entry through the online system. Registration is available on the Pennsylvania Training and Technical Assistance Network’s (PaTTAN) website at www.pattan.net.
The training will be offered on:
Thursday, May 9, 2019 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at PaTTAN Harrisburg
Friday, May 17, 2019 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at PaTTAN East
Monday, May 20, 2019 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at PaTTAN Pittsburgh
All interested peer monitors, including those currently on the peer monitoring list, must complete the updated mandated training and BSE contract to continue to serve as a peer monitor.
