Pennsylvania’s Acting Education Secretary Khalid Mumin made a statement in his opening remarks at Monday’s budget hearing defending Gov. Josh Shapiro’s proposed education budget that Republican lawmakers didn’t let him forget: “The goal within this budget is to ensure that every Pennsylvania student has access to a quality education.”
