Feds OK Pennsylvania’s plans for $1.6 billion in federal COVID relief funds for schools

The U.S. Department of Education on Thursday released $1.6 billion for Pennsylvania schools after approving Pennsylvania’s plan for the federal COVID relief money. The state’s plan details how those funds will safely reopen schools, sustain their operation and equitably expand opportunity for students who need it most, particularly those most impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a news release from the department.
