Editorial: School Funding in Pennsylvania: We Have a Plan; Now We Need Action

Pennsylvania, for more than 25 years, has been one of the few states without a reliable school funding formula, leaving school districts to set their annual budgets without knowing how much funding they would receive. Last year, the state’s Basic Education Funding Commission offered a bipartisan proposal for an equitable funding plan. Nearly nine months later, the formula hasn’t been implemented.
