Celebrate National Assistant Principals Week, April 11–15
April 4, 2016
Please join NASSP and others around the country in celebrating 2016’s National Assistant Principals Week, April 11–15! As in years past, NASSP is offering activities and services to help you honor the important role and contributions of assistant principals. They include:
- E-cards. Choose a free e-card, add your message and schedule the day and time for the card to be delivered. NASSP will email the card, along with a link to a special AP Week gift.
- #APchat on Twitter. Join a conversation with other APs using #APchat on Twitter, Sunday, April 10 at 8:00 p.m., to discuss connected leadership.
- Assistant Principal Webinar. Join us April 14, from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. (ET), for “Finding Your Leadership Voice,” a webinar on how assistant principals are developing and acquiring skills to become effective transformational school leaders. Participants include representatives from the National Association of Elementary School Principals and leaders from Prince George’s County Public Schools in Maryland who participate in The Wallace Foundation Principal Pipeline Initiative.
- AP Expert of the Week. NASSP is excited to announce its new online feature, Expert of the Week! Kicking off during AP Week, a different 2016 State Assistant Principal of the Year will post an article each week about an important issue affecting assistant principals. The first topic is connected leadership, and the articles will be posted in the Assistant Principals Leadership Center on the NASSP website.
- APweek Hashtag. Use #apweek on Twitter and Instagram to share your words of appreciation, celebratory images and other acknowledgments of the great work APs do year-round.
- Giveaways. NASSP will raffle off one complimentary registration to the 2017 National Principals Conference in Philadelphia, PA, July 9–11, 2017, and one registration to a LEAD (which stands for Leadership Experience and Development) conference. The two winners will be selected at random from the list of assistant principals who redeem the free gift that comes with their AP Week e-card.
Get ready to celebrate and show your appreciation for assistant principals!
