In PA, less than 5% of teachers are people of color; lack of diversity is hurting kids and schools

Across Pennsylvania, student demographics continue to increasingly diversify with a growing number of districts becoming less white, and more brown and black. Yet, according to state education data, more than half of all schools and nearly 40% of the state’s 501 school districts employ only white teachers.
