UNthink My School Grant Offers $40,000 to Support Innovation In Schools
February 2, 2016
Do you have a brilliant idea to solve a problem and your school, and just need a little money to make it happen? NAESP has partnered with the Wahl Foundation to award one $20,000 grant and ten $2,000 UNthink My School grants to schools that apply a creative solution to a problem. Schools serving grades K-8 whose principal is an NAESP member are eligible to apply; winners will be announced in March. The Foundation is especially interested in hearing from low-income and Title I schools.
We know that most schools struggle with resources—especially time. The good news here is that the application process for the grant is simple and takes anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour to complete. We hope that even the act of applying for these grants will spark some innovative ideas that will not only help schools, but the communities they serve.
Possible grant projects could reinforce an anti-bullying campaign, focus on campus safety, overcome learning inequalities, decrease truancy, or address resource challenges.
As NAESP helps principals navigate the intrinsic 21st century challenges that come with the transformation of the nation’s school systems, the UNthink My School grant dovetails with our commitment to arts-enhanced school experiences and creative approaches to provide modern, innovative support to principals.
Proposals are due Feb. 15, 2016. Visit http://www.thewahlfoundation.com/unthink-my-school-grant/ for more details.
