PA Principals Association Lobbying Efforts
September 9, 2015
As you are now likely aware, yesterday the Pennsylvania Department of Education announced a one-year pause in the use of the state’s School Performance Profile (SPP). We are delighted with this decision as the Pennsylvania Principals Association has been lobbying for this pause due to changes in the Pennsylvania System of School Assessment. We believe this is an excellent first step toward addressing other concerns we have brought forward relating to the Act 82 Educator Effectiveness model.
“We are delighted with the Pennsylvania of Department’s announcement about the one-year moratorium on SPP scores for grades 3-8,” said Dr. Paul Healey. “Our efforts to communicate our concerns have certainly paid dividends. We will continue to serve as the voice of all principals and other educational leaders across the Commonwealth.”
