New Law Requires Schools to Adopt Suicide Prevention Policies

Adopted in June 2014, Act 71 requires districts to train educators to spot signs of trouble in students before they turn to suicide. Pennsylvania is the sixth state to adopt such a law, joining Connecticut, Georgia, Maine, Utah and Washington.
