Guidelines for Submission/Review of Alternative Classroom Teacher Effectiveness Rating Tool

The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) developed guidelines that only outline instructions for submitting modifications to the teacher observation/practice component of Pennsylvania’s Classroom Teacher Rating Form published June 22, 2013 in the Pennsylvania Bulletin. The guidelines are available on PDE’s web site,  http://www.portal.state.pa.us/portal/server.pt/community/educator_effectiveness_project/20903, and apply to school districts, intermediate units, area vocational-technical schools, and career technology centers that want to only submit modifications to the teacher observation/practice component.  

Separate guidelines for modifying the multiple measures components of Pennsylvania’s Classroom Teacher Rating Form will be issued at a later date.  

Submit your locally-developed alternative classroom teacher effectiveness rating tools electronically to Linda J. Benedetto at lbenedetto@pa.gov Please allow 30 days for her to review and respond to each locally-developed alternative classroom teacher effectiveness rating tool submitted for approval.
