Linda W. Marcincin Named Secretary of State Principals’ Association

(Harrisburg, PA)—Dr. Linda W. Marcincin, principal of Slatington Elementary School in Slatington, Pa., has recently been appointed as Secretary of the Pennsylvania Association of Elementary and Secondary School Principals (PA Principals Association), headquartered in Summerdale, Pa.
PA Principals Association’s membership of approximately 4,000, is comprised of elementary, middle level and secondary school principals, assistant principals and supervisors and is affiliated with the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) and the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP).
Dr. Marcincin took over the association’s secretarial reins following the annual business meeting on Tuesday, October 23, 2007 held in conjunction with the fifteenth annual PA Principals Association conference in Camp Hill, Pa. (October 21-23, 2007).
Dr. Marcincin previously served as an assistant principal at Northern Lehigh High for two years, and as an assistant principal at Northern Lehigh Middle School for eight years.
She has been a member of PA Principals Association for 13 years. She most recently served as the East II regional elementary representative to the PA Principals Association board of directors. As a PA Principals Association regional representative, she organized principal meetings for the eastern regions. She has also served as a member of the PA Principals Association conference committee, which she has attended regularly for the past five years.
Dr. Marcincin has been a participant in the “Previewing the Principalship” workshop discussion panel for two years, and a participant in the Pennsylvania Association of School Administrators’ workshop discussion panel for one year. She has had an article published in the NAESP’s Principal magazine. She is currently working on certification as a national principal mentor.
Dr. Marcincin earned a bachelor of arts degree in English from Moravian College, and a master’s of arts degree in English from New York University. She received a certification as a reading specialist from Kutztown University, and holds a principal certification and superintendent’s letter of eligibility from Lehigh University. She received her doctorate from Nova Southeastern University.
